Why are we here?
Kabasalan is a 2nd class municipality in Zamboanga Sibugay with a population of 46,884 1 and registers a poverty rate of 30.09%. This agricultural area is endowed with both land and coastal resources that the community relies upon. Government and non-government organizations provide agricultural-related technical and livelihood assistance, but challenges persist such as the lack of community access to basic services and economic opportunities.
How do we achieve self-sustaining and resilient households in Zamboanga Sibugay?
The goal for Kabasalan is the creation of strong, financially sustainable social enterprises that can provide economic opportunities and further improve the social and economic conditions of around 320 members of KGMC as target beneficiaries. Interventions in the next five years are concentrated on KGMC and Barangay Concepcion. Access to basic social services, social enterprise development, and organizational development, particularly governance and decentralized leadership, will be given priority.
