Sultan Kudarat

Focus Municipalities: Lebak, Kalamansig

SE partners:

Bacbacan Multipurpose Cooperative

Keytodac Coffee Growers Inc.

Kalamansig Farmers Agricultural Development and Marketing Association

Why are we here?

Kalamansig and Lebak belong to the top five poorest municipalities in Sultan Kudarat province with poverty incidence posted at 42.2% and 34.7%, respectively (PSA, 2018). High cost of services (or lack thereof), low farm productivity, and fluctuating prices of the commodity are major drivers of poverty in the area. Based on PEF baseline data in 2017, the annual household income per coffee cropping cycle is only P20,000.

The two towns are known producers and suppliers of coffee, corn, coconut, rice and marine products in the province and in Region 12. These top five commodities will create surplus value for the households when maximized through the efforts of PEF and partners for the next five (5) years.

How do we achieve self-sustaining and resilient households in Sultan Kudarat?

The goal of PEF is to increase household income in every cropping cycle by reducing household costs and increasing productivity.

This will materialize by supporting enterprise development projects of SE partners through the provision of working capital for commodity consolidation, microfinancing, consumption, and construction of water systems; enabling our partners to be self-sustaining upon PEF exit through the provision of training and mentoring on the aspects of governance, financial management, risk management, and resource mobilization; and co-developing projects with the LGUs on coastal resource management, demo farm establishment.
