The Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) celebrated their 18th anniversary last November 27 with the gathering of pioneers behind the Foundation, as well as the staff and the members of its Board and General Assembly.

Present in the gathering are former Executive Director Veronica Villavicencio, Board members Fr. Manny Guazon, Ma. Regina B. Martin,Vitaliano N. Nañagas II, Ma. Aurora F. Tolentino, Atty. Ana Lea H. Uy, and GA members Mayette Paragas, Dr. Anna Marie Karaos, and Dan Songco.

During her message, Paragas explained that PEF was created with a noble idea in reducing poverty through the promotion of community-based social enterprises.

"Through the valuable legacy we lived, we hope to witness more self-sustaining households capable of providing basic needs of life," she said.

Villavicencio, who have lead PEF from 2004 - 2010, meanwhile called on the Foundation to continue working towards the vision of self-sustaining households.

"I just wish that may the force of fortitude and felicity be with you all in PEF," she said.

The Peace and Equity Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit organization that aspires to drive positive change in poor Filipino household communities by investing in social enterprises that will provide them with viable livelihood and better access to basic services.
