MOA Signing for the 2nd Installment of Impact Hub Fellowship
Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Impact Hub Manila (IHM) and WWF-Philippines formalizing their partnership for the second run of the Impact Hub Fellowship for Agriculture.
PEF IHM and WWF Philippines will identify and incubate entrepreneurial solutions to a variety of issues related to sustainable energy, especially those with defined solutions for the agriculture sector.
In 2016, after receiving over fifty applications, the fellowship announced the three startups getting the unanimous nod of the selection jury: Cleverheat, a solar-powered refrigeration system; HiGi, makers of environment-friendly briquettes for cooking; and Solar Sari-Sari Store, portable solar energy stations for lighting, water purification, mobile phone charging, and refrigeration. These 3 Fellows entered the incubation phase, where they received prizes valued at PHP800, 000 each team.
This year, the fellowship has opened its doors to startups with a clear focus on scaling up the agricultural sector in the country through innovative solutions. Selected startups will receive seed funding, meet subject matter experts, get mentorship, get involved in skills development programs, and will get access to IHM’s local and global network and co-working space.
The Impact Hub Fellowship is a topic-focused entrepreneurial award and one-year accelerator program designed to attract, select and support impact-oriented entrepreneurs or startups that provide innovative business solutions.
